State Tax Lien & Deed Sales List |
Using Tax Lien Certificates As InvestmentsWritten by: Thomas Needles
If your state of residence is not listed above, and you are still anxious to try tax lien certificate investing, travel may need to be a consideration. Since investing in a tax lien requires a W-9 tax form, which is an independent contractor tax form, you can deduct these travel expenses later on because you are running a business per se by investing and then receiving a profits on top of that investment. Do your research, however, to make sure that there are no special rules regarding a particular state. Some states may require for you to be a resident in order to invest. This is not common, but it is better to be safe than sorry before traveling. Plane tickets and gas are just too expensive to make that type of mistake, and the goal is to make money, not waste it. Anyone Can Invest In Tax Lien Certificates Tax lien certificate investing can also be done without travel to states you do not reside in. This is done via the mail or through online auctions. These are both excellent ways to obtain tax lien certificates without the commute. This would be a wonderful avenue if you were unable to work out of the home due to a physical condition, age, or are a stay at home parent. Few types of investments will bring in this type of income that will secure you and your family's needs as good or better than a full time paying job. Once you have fine tuned your craft, tax lien certificate investing can be an incredible and life changing experience. Make sure that if you engage in distance investing, you research the properties fully by contacting the county. The likelihood of acquiring real estate is rare, but if it does happen, you must make sure that you have property that you can turn for a profit. |
