Ohio Tax Deeds and Tax Lien Certificate Sales - (OH)
Written by: Kevin Zimmerman
Under normal circumstances, the state of Ohio would be considered an excellent state for tax lien certificate sales. A review of relevant tax lien certificate sales information indicates that Ohio is a worth considering for tax lien investing, though there is somewhat of a catch; Ohio tax lien sales are limited only to institutional investors.
An Overview of Ohio Tax Lien Sales
The interest rate for Ohio tax sales is 18% per year with right of redemption periods as brief as 1 year. Ohio tax lien certificate auctions are only held in counties with populations that exceed 200,000. Most of the sales are held in June of each year, but only institutional investors are allowed to participate.
Ohio also holds tax deed sales that are open to the general public.
Ohio Tax Sales Bidding Process
If tax lien sales were available for the general public, Ohio would be a great state for tax lien investing. However, Ohio does conduct tax deed sales and can be considered a good state for tax deeds.
