The state of South Dakota no longer conducts either tax lien certificate sales or tax deed sales. Therefore, South Dakota is not a good state for tax lien investors.
An Overview of South Dakota Tax Lien Sales
There is no associated interest rate for South Dakota since the state does not hold tax lien sales any longer. As of 2006, all tax lien certificate sales were suspended.
South Dakota does not conduct tax deed sales either - these were also discontinued. However South Dakota still holds a number of foreclosure auctions.
